Games like 7 days to die3/1/2023 We spawned in close to dusk and began running against time to find shelter before nightfall. This lends itself to creating lots of emergent gaming moments.įor example, I recall a game that a friend and I had started back a couple of years ago. Therefore, the game has this constant sense of urgency that hangs in the air, as you try to gather enough resources to erect a base resilient enough to withstand each zombie apocalypse. What makes 7 Days to Die so harrowing is that on every seventh day a huge zombie horde will arise and basically come at you wherever you are. In 7 Days to Die, you have the freedom to do these sorts of things. Then we constructed a kitchen and some storage rooms. From there we built floor panels and laid them across any holes that were present. We crafted a ladder, climbed up into the space, and blocked it off with a trapdoor. After clearing an abandoned grocery store out by killing all of the zombies that were lurking around in it, we discovered that above its ceiling was an entire separate maintenance level. For instance, I was playing with a gaming buddy and we were exploring a small town. the foundation walls and such, or find an already existing building and begin retrofitting it instead. When night falls, the zombies become more powerful, so much so that even one or two can end your life in a hurry.Īnother thing that makes 7 Days to Die unique is that you can choose to either build your base up from scratch, i.e. Of course, you must do all of this while dodging lurching zombies which populate the game’s environs. You must quickly collect some resources, build some rudimentary tools and weapons, and scout out a spot to build your first base. Once you begin a game, 7 Days to Die starts off like most games of this type-you spawn in with some raggedy clothes on your back, a little bit of food and water, and that’s about it. The only difference between the two options is that Navezgane has a few additional distinct points of interest that the random maps lack. Upon starting each game, you can either play on 7 Days to Die’s fictional pre-generated map called Navezgane or you can choose the procedurally generated feature and get a randomized map. Some of the things that set it apart was that it was a sandbox, role-playing, zombie survival game that turned into a tower defense experience on every seventh day (within the game that is).īut let me back up. 7 Days to Die was one game within the ever-popular genre that caught the attention of many a gamer out there. The game is a heavy, it needs a good video card, but he is well optimized. There are a veritable plethora of zombie survival video games on the market, some good along a lot of badness. I can't tell you too much about the limitations because, sincerely, I did not noticed anything bad in the engine. I think that the engine will provide stable FPS to H1Z1, plus good connection to the game, which is fundamental for a survival game. I play Planetside 2 with 190+ Ping all the time, but I noticed that this does not interferes in anything, because if I shoot the enemy, he will die, does not matter what happens. That is insane.Īlso, players like me which are from other countries does not suffer with high Pings. Around 869 (anything like that) players in the same battle (yes, same battle, not same map :D), close to each other. I don't remember where I read it, but Planetside 2 have hit the record of players in the same Battle in the FPS category. I did not see any game doing this until now. That is the main factor that I have noticed. I think that the main advantage of the PS2 engine is the fact that you can stay close to 60 Tanks, 30 Aircrafts, 200 Players on the ground with a lot of explosions and your FPS will just stay stable. Sorry if you don't understand me correctly, but my main language is not english ok. Look at this printscreen, I found this when I was playing the Closed Beta, you can't clearly see the building, but you can imagine the possibilities of the game, it looks like it is a part of the map. I'm also waiting for H1Z1 and Landmark, I don't know if there will be PVP or PVE in Landmark, but it is the more exciting construct game that I saw until now. This one remembers Left 4 Dead, Idk much about it. Some of you mentioned MineCraft here, this one looks very similar and interesting. Some peoples are saying that this is very similar to The Forest, not about the game itself, but about the great nature looking, adventure looking map. Well, I did not looked much at this game, but it seens to be cool. I think that Space Engineers do not have a PVE mode, it is in Early Access but I'm waiting to see how this game will progress. I want to share some other games that was not mentioned here, maybe they are not exaclty similar to 7D2D, but have some similar aspects (PS: Sorry for my english): Thanks for the games guys, I never heard about Maia and Survive the Nights.
